Conservation Commission Meeting
The commission convened to discuss citizen concerns regarding the impact of aquatic herbicide treatment on pickerweed populations in the lake. Residents presented evidence and observations suggesting that the treatment negatively affected local vegetation. In response, representatives from the contractor, Water and Wetland, provided their own findings and observations, attributing the vegetation issues to drought conditions, varying water levels, and seasonal growth patterns rather than the herbicide treatment. The commission engaged in a dialogue to address these differing perspectives and examine the ecological impact of the treatment.
