Board Of Adjustment Hearing
The Board of Adjustment held a hearing to discuss a variance request for a property located at 22 Bishop Drive. The applicant requested a reduction of the arterial highway setback from the required 100 feet to 50 feet to construct a garage and shop. The discussion covered the site plan design, the hardship claimed due to downzoning, and the applicant's intent to build smaller, separate structures rather than one large building to be more sympathetic to neighboring properties. Board members questioned the necessity of the variance and the potential commercial appearance of the proposed structure, with the applicant clarifying that the building is intended for residential accessory use, such as a garage for vehicles and recreational equipment.
