The committee reviewed updates on active experiments, including the LA28 supplement and national MUTCD revisions. Key topics included the criteria for defining safety corridors, with extensive discussion regarding the validity of methodologies utilizing vehicle miles traveled versus crash data, and the implementation of speed safety camera systems in construction and maintenance zones under AB 289 legislation. The committee also addressed a transit executive order and approved the use of a new 'CAUTION WIDE TURNING TRUCKS' warning sign specifically for roundabouts. Discussions concluded with plans to cancel the November meeting and potential arrangements for an in-person session in February.
The meeting agenda includes administrative organization items such as introductions, committee membership, and public comment procedures.
