The Facilitation Review Committee's recommendation to the Jackson School District 117 Board of Education outlines a phased, long-range plan for 21st-century learning. The initial phase, to be funded by a proposed 1% sales tax referendum in November 2014, focuses on the comprehensive renovation and addition to Turner Junior High. This project aims to create a 6th-8th grade middle school, upgrade infrastructure, and convert facilities for 21st-century educational standards, while also addressing student services, enabling kindergartners to return to home schools, and facilitating future enrollment growth efficiently.

This Discipline Improvement Plan aims to reduce exclusionary discipline and address racial disproportionality within the school district. The plan outlines a structured process involving data review, problem definition, performance measurement, cause analysis, and implementation of improvement strategies. Key focus areas include providing implicit bias and brain training professional development, offering professional development in positive practices, and fostering home-to-school connections to build positive relationships. The plan seeks to decrease racial disproportionality in discipline and reduce overall suspensions by 10%.

This presentation outlines Jacksonville School District 117's long-range planning, focusing on future challenges and strategic initiatives. Key areas include re-evaluating elementary school boundaries for financial savings, exploring hybrid attendance center models, and expanding alternative school and pre-kindergarten programs.
