This training covered various aspects of Title IX, including an introduction to Title IX, training requirements, new regulations and key definitions, the roles of the Title IX team and the board, handling Title IX complaints, and concluding remarks. Specific discussion points included new regulations focusing on due process, the scope of the school's responsibility, the definition of "actual knowledge," the concept of "deliberate indifference," key definitions related to Title IX (complainant, respondent, recipient, formal complaint), the new definition of sexual harassment, responsibilities when conduct is not covered by Title IX, the composition and roles of the Title IX team, the responsibilities of the Title IX coordinator and investigator, the appeals process, record-keeping requirements, and the prohibition against retaliation. The training also addressed handling Title IX complaints, including assessing the situation, evaluating interim measures, establishing timelines, conducting investigations, interviewing parties, preparing reports, issuing findings, and maintaining records.
