Gulfport School District District EL Plan 2024-2025
This document outlines the Gulfport School District's comprehensive 2024-2025 District EL Plan, established in accordance with Section 3302 of Title III of the ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION ACT (ESEA) and Mississippi Department of Education guidelines. The primary goal is the acquisition of English language skills so that English Learners (ELs) can succeed independently within mainstream classrooms. Key components include adopting an English as a Second Language approach, providing structured support in four language domains, developing and monitoring Language Service Plans (LSPs), and establishing clear policies for enrolling, identifying, placing, grading, retaining, assessing, and exiting EL services.
