The workshop provided background on the city's partnership with MCE, a local non-profit electricity provider. Key discussion topics included the automatic enrollment process for electric accounts, how MCE partners with PG&E for electricity generation and delivery, the process for solar account holders regarding net energy metering and true-up cycles, and the differences in compensation rates for excess generation between PG&E and MCE. Additionally, the presentation covered rate stability, the transition to time-of-use rates, and how renewable energy certificates function within the grid.
