The Pre-Council meeting included a review of upcoming action items, such as board appointments and committee reports. The council received a presentation from the Will County Center for Economic Development regarding the ongoing economic partnership, the mission of the organization, business retention initiatives, and workforce development programs, including a summer internship initiative for high school students. A representative from the Autobon Country Club also expressed gratitude for the city's support over the last two decades and mentioned upcoming strategic plans for the club.

The council held a meeting to honor the retiring Police Chief, acknowledging his efforts in lowering crime rates and improving police resources over his tenure. The Plan Commission reviewed multiple development projects including an amendment to the final plat for the Vista Ridge planned unit development and the vacation of a public utility and drainage easement. Additionally, the commission approved an amendment to the preliminary plat and a final plat for the Cherry Hill Business Park 21 subdivision phase two to facilitate the expansion of a warehouse facility. Finally, the meeting covered the proposed annexation of property on South Hobalt Road to allow for the development of a truck parking facility, including requests for accessory mobile CNG fueling and container storage.
