This Five-Year Strategic Plan for Johnson City Schools aims to enable all students to achieve excellence and develop into healthy, productive, and lifelong learners within a progressive, globally competitive school system. The plan is structured around five key result areas: Achievement, Community Engagement, Human Resources, Infrastructure, and Wellness and Safety, to ensure all students have equal opportunities and meet high expectations.

The Johnson City Schools Family Engagement Plan aims to increase and improve family involvement in students' education by supporting the Board of Education's Five-Year Strategic Plan. Its strategic direction encompasses ten components: involving families in policy development, providing technical assistance, setting clear goals for various engagement types (parenting, communication, volunteering, learning at home, decision-making, community collaboration), establishing an evaluation process, ensuring school-wide engagement, facilitating access to curricular information and standards, supporting positive parenting skills, integrating families in decision-making and governance, building staff capacity through professional development, and allocating dedicated budget and funding.

The meeting of the Johnson City Board of Education included a presentation on Southside School, highlighting their efforts to support students and families during the school closure, including providing food boxes, resources, and books. The board also recognized two board members for their service. Additionally, there was a winter sports update, including plans and protocols related to COVID-19.

The board also discussed and approved a budget amendment for the 2526 fiscal year, addressing general fund expenditures, TISA revenues, and virtual program costs. Additionally, the 2025 local education agency compliance report was presented, affirming compliance with state and federal laws.
