Additionally, a presentation regarding an Expenditure Reduction Plan was reviewed, and the upcoming Board of Education meeting agenda was shared, which includes a reception for an outgoing member.

The strategic plan for Pekin Public Schools District 108 outlines a five-year roadmap to prepare and empower creative, critical thinkers for future challenges. The plan is organized around five key goals: fostering student achievement and growth, cultivating a safe and engaging learning environment, strengthening family and community partnerships, building a premier workforce, and ensuring efficient operational resource management. It aims to guide the district in serving students and helping them reach their fullest potential.

The Insurance Committee meeting included a review of claims information for the first quarter of the plan year, noting a decrease in membership, increases in medical and pharmacy amounts paid, and a high medical loss ratio. The committee also discussed high-cost claimants, changes to out-of-pocket maximums, and the rising cost of prescriptions. Additionally, the BCBS Rewards program's utilization and potential improvements were discussed, and an update was provided on the flu shot clinic. The plan's coverage of anti-obesity medications will be clarified.

The Communications Committee meeting included discussions on affirming the Work in Progress Document for the 2025-2026 school year and concerns regarding standards based reporting at the Intermediate level. The committee also reviewed the Board of Education Meeting Agenda for October 20, 2025. Meeting dates for the 2025-2026 school year were also set.
