The City of Eau Claire Comprehensive Health Chapter integrates public health into the city's Comprehensive Plan. This initiative aims to enhance human health within the built environment by addressing issues such as chronic disease, obesity, and rising healthcare costs. The plan outlines policies and strategies across six core sections: Active Living, Food & Nutrition, Land Use, Safety & Crime, Drug Abuse, and Environmental Exposures, with the overarching goal of creating more livable communities, increasing quality of life, and reducing various health risks.

This document is the Sustainability Chapter of the City of Eau Claire's Comprehensive Plan, adopted to ensure sustainability principles guide the improvement of quality of life by meeting present environmental, economic, and social needs without compromising future generations. The plan addresses key strategic areas including energy production and conservation, promotion of local food systems, environmental conservation, reduction of atmospheric contributions to climate change, effective waste management, fostering a strong and healthy community, guiding sustainable development, enhancing balanced transportation, building a greener economy, and promoting sustainable government practices.

The meeting includes a business session and a discussion portion focusing on updating the approved bike rack list and reviewing the lessons learned from the recent Bike Week event. The committee will also receive numerous announcements regarding ongoing infrastructure projects, such as tunnel lighting updates, the installation of RRFB warning systems, solar-powered flashing yield signs at roundabouts, and the status of various trail grant applications and trail micro-sealing efforts.
