The Board meeting included a presentation on the partnership between the college and the local YMCA, focusing on expanding youth sports, educational opportunities, and community impact. The Board formally recognized the retirements of three staff members. Additionally, a moment of silence was held for members of the college community. Finally, the Board received a report on the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, highlighting enrollment trends, the transition of non-credit students to credit programs, and the alignment of these efforts with the college's strategic goals.

The Committee reviewed several policies designated for review only, including those related to variable tuition, financial aid, scholarships and awards, and environmental health and safety. Additionally, the Committee discussed and recommended several policies for a first reading in April, involving updates to governance and administration roles, general petition language in alignment with the Student Debt Assistance Act, and alternative methods for awarding credit to better reflect institutional procedures and union contracts.

The meeting featured a presentation on regional economic development, highlighting a partnership to bring Hyundai Translead to the area and plans for a Manufacturing Training Academy. Significant time was dedicated to a referendum discussion, including an overview of debt management, future capital priorities such as campus expansions, and the utilization of a community engagement model for potential future ballot measures. The committee also reviewed upcoming key budget dates for the next fiscal year and addressed the process for board review of budget drafts.

The committee discussed the North Winds Tax Abatement proposal concerning a potential trailer equipment manufacturing facility, which involves a significant capital investment and job creation for Will County. Additionally, the committee reviewed the FY27 to FY29 financial plan, including projections for operating expenses, grant revenue, property taxes, and tuition rates. A proposal for a $3 per credit hour increase for the upcoming fiscal year was introduced for future board consideration.
