The CSI Performance Framework defines measures for holding schools accountable, guiding practice, assessing progress, and informing decision-making in academic, financial, and organizational performance. It focuses on evaluating school performance in academic achievement, growth, and postsecondary readiness, as well as financial stability and compliance, and organizational governance, educational programs, equity, and operations.

The Colorado Charter School Institute (CSI) strategic plan focuses on fostering high-quality educational options while prioritizing access and equity for all students, particularly those from historically underserved communities. Key strategies include targeted support for new schools to ensure readiness in serving diverse student populations, annual performance evaluations with specific metrics for enrollment diversity and student outcomes, program implementation reviews focusing on key student subgroups, and tiered supports and monitoring to ensure equitable and accessible high-quality education opportunities.

The Colorado Charter School Institute's board meeting included discussions and updates to various board policies. Policies such as the Code of Conduct Policy, Student Conduct Policy, Teaching About Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco Policy, Weapons in School Policy, and Performance Management were rescinded. The Bullying Prevention and Education Policy, Safe Schools Policy, Crisis Management Policy, and Institute Accreditation Policy were updated to reflect existing requirements, recommendations, and relevant statutes. Additionally, there was discussion regarding Colorado Commission on Higher Education Data Reporting and Student Records and Release of Information on Students Policies.

The meeting included public comments regarding the new school application for John Adams Academy. The board approved the Crown Pointe Academy expansion application and the transfer applications for Battle Rock Charter School and Global Village Academy - Aurora. They also approved the consent agenda, which included renewal contracts for several charter schools and a motion to adopt the CSI Wellness Policy. The board discussed committee reports, including updates from the Finance Committee on Colorado SKIES Academy and monthly CSI financials, and from the Performance Management Committee on action items. The Executive Director provided updates on legislative matters, Year 0, and staff.
