Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License. Work includes, perform all assessing-related tasks as contained in the State Tax Commission's Property Tax Calendar. Gather and analyze data via field inspections and plan review, and update sketches and record card as necessary. Review 20% of real property according to the City's Assessing Plan. Perform an annual property tax canvas and process and distribute personal property tax statements. Analyze sales and create accurate land values and economic condition factors (ECFs) to determine market value. Communicate, educate, and work with the City's Board of Review to schedule required annual meetings. Conduct appeal sessions for property owners, respond to questions about the assessing process and state equalized and taxable values, and defend assessments in front of the State Tax Tribunal. Assist the City Attorney on full-tribunal cases. Assist the Community Development Manager in processing property splits and combinations. Work with the City Treasurer to ensure accurate tax rolls, tax parcel descriptions, and TIF districts. Perform other assessment-related duties as required.
