The Board of Directors met for a working retreat. Steve Schulz, President of NIACC, presented the vision for a new career training center in Hampton. IASB representative Lou Givst directed the board in goal development, board governance, and the B-K School Improvement process. Board members discussed goal identification and action planning. The Interim Superintendent was requested to craft goals with leadership teams and present them at an upcoming meeting.

The Board of Directors convened for a special meeting, during which they moved into a closed session for personnel evaluation, specifically to evaluate the professional competency of an individual. Following the closed session, the board voted to hire Jennifer Peter as Superintendent.

The meeting included assigning a 7-12 Student Council Representative, assigning para-educators in Jacobson Elementary, accepting the resignation of a para-educator in Jacobson Elementary, and accepting the bid from Kay Chapman, CPA, P.C. for auditing fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026.

The Board of Directors convened for a special board meeting, which was called to order by the Board President. The board moved into a closed session for personnel evaluation. Upon returning from the closed session, the Board made a motion to release Margaret Schon from her contract as 5th grade teacher without any repercussions.

The meeting included approval of the agenda and consent agenda items, such as the appointment of multiple elementary teachers and the acceptance of a resignation. The board also discussed and accepted the Collective Bargaining Master Agreement with the Belmond-Klemme Education Association for the 2024-2026 school years. Additionally, the board approved the re-issuance of teacher contracts to certified employees.
