The committee reviewed and provided favorable reports for various license plate applications, including new tags, applications for reissuance and redesign, and reissuance and retention requests for both LOC and non-LOC organizations. Additionally, the committee discussed a request from the Freemasons regarding the requirement for proof of membership as outlined in Code 32-6-510.

The committee reviewed and approved several new license plate applications, including those for Make A Wish Alabama, Mental Health Matters, Tags for Moody Teachers, Alabama Respiratory Therapist, America 250 AL, Georgia Tech, and OTC Mental Health Awareness. Additionally, the committee addressed applications for license plate reissuance and redesign, granting favorable outcomes for the A Pink Breast Cancer Tag, Helping Schools, and Habitat for Humanity tags. Applications for reissuance while retaining current designs were also approved for Jefferson State Community College, Shriners Hospital, and Thank A Lineman, and the committee acknowledged various non-LOC organizational reissuance requests.

The committee reviewed and provided favorable recommendations for several new license plate applications, including those for the Alabama Pinhoti Trail Association, PTSD Awareness, and Saraland City Schools. Additionally, the committee approved applications for the reissuance and retention of designs for the Choose Life and God Bless America tags, as well as the reissuance and redesign of the Talladega College tag. The committee also engaged in a discussion regarding HB321.

The meeting included updates on the OIVS ad campaign and the OIVS pilot program, noting that all pilot counties should have programming completed by July 1, 2012, and be using the new registration database layout by September 1, 2012. There was also discussion regarding an administrative rule to permit officials to assign identification numbers for registrants without standard identification. The council discussed insurance data transfers and cleaning up mismatched VIN records. Smaller insurers were included in the pilot group of insurers. The department's electronic evidence of insurance administrative rule became effective June 8, 2012.
