Yadkin River Raw Water Intake Contract A

Proposed project generally includes construction of approx. 15,000 LF of 20" Raw Water Line, pedestrian bridge, valves, restoration and all related appurtenances. The proposed 20" Raw Water Line is proposed to cross the Yadkin River at three (3) locations, and the Reddies River at one (1) location, along the proposed route.

Gwinnett County

The project involves the removal of the existing intake pipes, check valves, and butterfly valves at the Wayne mason raw water intake site. New check valves, butterfly valves and a freight lift with enclosure will be installed. The contractor will install two new intake pipes with tee screens at elevations of 1,025 and 1,042.5 FT in the lake. A concrete meter vault will be installed at the site, and a new flow meter will be provided by the owner for installation on the 78" raw water transmission line. The project also involves the coring of a new wet well penetration for the pipe at elevation of 1,042.5 FT. Site modifications will improve access, mobility, security, and stormwater management.

Jackson County Soil Conservation District

Installing approx. 350 LF of 16" D.I., CL250 pipe, 300 LF of 16" HDPE DR 21 pipe, 380 LF of directional bore for 16" HDPE, DR-21 pipe with 24" HDPE, DR 21 encasement, a vacuum priming vault, floating intake structure and all other necessary appurtenances to complete project.
