Summary
The south secondary clarifier complex at the wlwpcf consists of four clarifiers originally constructed circa 1978. The existing equipment and structures have exceeded or are approaching the end of their useful service life, resulting in frequent emergency repairs, increased maintenance costs, and heightened risk of regulatory non-compliance. This project is required to fully rehabilitate and modernize all four south secondary clarifiers to restore full operational reliability, ensure continuous compliance with the national pollutant discharge elimination system (npdes) permit requirements and other federal, state, and local regulations, improve seismic resilience, and extend the service life of these critical assets by at least 30 years.
