Whittier Bulkhead (2735) Bulkhead

Description: The City of Los Angeles, Engineering Bureau, is soliciting bids from five named prequalified prime contractors for construction work addressing a hazardous slope at 2735 Whittier Boulevard in Boyle Heights. The work includes a roughly 10.5-foot-high, 16-linear-foot cantilevered bulkhead with three cast-in-drilled-hole piles, reinforced-concrete retaining walls, a grade beam, and reconstruction of part of the sidewalk. The project is intended to mitigate a public-safety threat from encroaching debris and protect the public right-of-way.
