VISN 7 Virtual Pharmacy Services - (Request for Quotation)

Description: Requirements of Virtual Pharmacists/Pharmacy Service: The prescriptions will be verified by the pharmacists and sent electronically to the centralized mail-out pharmacy (CMOP) or suspended for local mail. The pharmacist will evaluate each prescription for drug-drug interactions, contraindications for recorded drug allergies, appropriate doses, accurate directions and assure the printed label will be understandable to the patient. Using formulary information provided by the VISN 7 Pharmacist Executive (VPE), VISN 7 pharmacy informaticist, and/or pharmacy service of specific sites, the pharmacist will review pending prescriptions for formulary status and process only new, renewed, and refills for formulary medications. New non-formulary prescriptions will not be processed by virtual pharmacist services. See attached file.
