Remedial Action (RA) activities at the Kahuku Point Former Radio Range Site RFP
The Contractor must excavate contaminated soil that was identified in reports that will be available at time of solicitation. The Contractor must arrange for proper storage, transport, and disposal of all investigation-derived waste (IDW) generated from this RA, including necessary sampling for proper disposal. Backfilling of the excavated area will not be required. Excavation, hauling, and disposal, quantities are as follows: Area to be excavated: 3.2 acres. Average depth of excavation: 1 foot. Average density of excavated soil excavation reports at the site): 0.73 tons per cubic yard. Total tons to be excavated: 3,768 tons. See outside link.

Construct Interim Remedial Action (IRA) for the Nelson Tunnel Superfund Site - Request for Proposal (RFP)
Alternative 4, drive new adit to intersect nelson tunnel, tunnel rehabilitation, install bulkhead in nelson tunnel and flow control structure in commodore 5 level and include the following remedial components. Installation of a new adit south of nelson tunnel, to bypass the nelson tunnel portal pool. Rehabilitation of nelson tunnel from the bypass adit connection to the location where bulkhead construction is planned. Installation of a flow control bulkhead in nelson tunnel to protect against a sudden uncontrolled release through nelson tunnel.
