Description: NASA’s Technology Transfer Program is seeking companies interested in licensing rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market the Space Link Extension Return Channel Frames (SLE-RCF) software library. The library implements the SLE-RCF protocol and enables mission control centers to receive telemetry frames from ground stations, with reusable routines across missions. The applications and benefits for these technologies are advantageous for many other industries as well. One of those technologies is the Space Link Extension Return Channel Frames (SLE-RCF) software library. This software library enables a mission control center to receive telemetry frames from a ground station. The technology implements the SLE-RCF protocol as defined by the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS). Software routines can be reused from mission to mission.

Technology Transfer Opportunity: 3D Lidar for Autonomous Landing Site Selection (GSC-TOPS-353) RFP
Next generation autonomous planetary exploration missions require advanced sensing capabilities for choosing proper landing areas for the vehicles. Current tools do not have the capability to allow vehicles outside the range of terrestrial control to autonomously perform safe landing operations. The Ocellus 3D lidar developed by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is a lightweight, small-footprint 3D lidar system for planetary and lunar exploration. The new 3D lidar can perform both altimetry (or range-finding) measurements from high altitudes and, at lower altitudes, terrain mapping and imaging. See outside link.

Technology Transfer Licensing Opportunity: Space Suit RoboGlove (SSRG) (MSC-TOPS-80)
The SSRG has been engineered to further decrease the exertion required to do complex, hand-intensive EVA tasks and reduce the risk of astronaut hand injury. Originating from its predecessors, the NASA/General Motors RoboGlove, and the later first-generation Space Suit RoboGlove, the SSRG realizes improved sensing, control, interface, and avionics capabilities. Among these improvements is the implementation of a “power steering mode”, which allows the user to position his/her fingers in an arbitrarily chosen position and receive assistance in holding that position. The SSRG retains the ability to operate like a conventional space suit glove while the actuators are unpowered. The design intent for the SSRG is to enhance a user’s ability to perform human scale work, with considerations for speed, power, durability, dexterity, and ease of operation.
