Description: The U.S. Department of Justice's Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) is a competitive recruitment program for compensated summer legal internships available to law students nationwide, including those applying through U.S. Attorney's Offices in North Carolina and other locations. Applications for the program open on August 28, 2026 and close on September 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Selected applicants are placed in legal internships at DOJ components, divisions, and U.S. Attorney's Offices around the country, with selection based on academic achievement, government service commitment, leadership, journal/moot court participation, and relevant experience.
