Special Notice - Industry Day/Project Presentation - National Mall and Memorial

Description: This project will rehabilitate two sections of seawalls. The first section will begin at the Inlet Bridge and extend south along the Potomac River to include Hains Point. The second section will begin at the Outlet Bridge and extend south along the Channel to the I-395 bridge. The existing stone masonry seawall will be removed, and reconstruction will follow the historic alignment. Various seawall and shoreline stabilization alternatives will be evaluated. Portions of the design will be able to accommodate future vertical additions in response to sea level rise or increasing storm surge elevations. The existing sidewalk and railing along the seawall will be reconstructed to provide a continuous pathway along EPP and connect to existing realigned pathways for accessible access to the seawall. Existing landscaping adjacent to the seawall will be replaced and graded to provide proper drainage.
