Complete the bridge span replacement. The scope of the work includes the installation of a new deck plate girder bridge system with a precast concrete deck while maintaining the existing substructure. The existing bridge superstructure will remain in place. This is the first phase of a two-phase project.

Work includes: in accordance with plans and specifications by removing an existing single-span steel bridge, abutments, and approach slabs and replacing with a single-span prestressed concrete box beam structure, semi-integral abutments on capped piles, and new approach slabs. Project also includes minor asphalt paving at approaches, guardrail upgrades, erosion control improvements and other related work. Major items feature 723.000 SY of pavement removal; 191.000 FT of guardrail removed; 55.000 CY of excavation; 57.000 CY of embankment; 150.000 FT of guardrail, type MGS; 911.000 SY of pavement planing, asphalt concrete; 43.000 CY of asphalt concrete base; 11.000 EA of prestressed concrete composite box beam bridge members; and 147.000 SY of reinforced concrete approach slabs.
