ClosedSoftball Field Renovation at Fullerton College RFP
Description: Work includes selective site demolition consisting of the partial removal of existing asphalt and concrete paving and removal of existing site improvements, including perimeter fencing and gates, outfield walls, softball and baseball foul poles, two scoreboards, 30-foot-high perimeter field netting, bleachers and footings, one of two batting cages while the other remains, existing portable toilets to be returned to the District or as directed, and portions of the existing irrigation system. Selective building demolition includes the removal of two existing dugout structures and one storage shed. New construction includes a Home Team Building with a cast-in-place concrete slab and footings, concrete masonry walls, men’s and women’s toilet rooms, a team room, coach’s office, and single-ply polyvinyl chloride (PVC) roofing over insulation; a Visitor’s Dugout with structural steel, metal decking, and a single-ply PVC roof; and new home bleachers with a press box. Site improvement work includes hardscape and landscaping surrounding the new building, new underground utilities serving the building, asphalt and concrete paving for parking areas and walkways, pavement sealing and restriping, new landscaping, expansion and regrading of the softball field, installation of a warning track, soil preparation, plant materials including sodded turf for the outfield, synthetic turf at batting cages, irrigation systems with controllers, booster pumps, associated piping and fittings, and renovation of the existing baseball field. Additional improvements include 50-foot-high netting, perimeter fencing, 8-foot-high concrete masonry outfield walls, scoreboards with supporting structures, and new batting cages, including relocation of existing batting cages.
