School-based Health Center, La Pine, Oregon, Medical Sponsor (Request for Proposal)

Description: School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are a vital community tool with a youth centered model that supports young people’s health and well-being. In Oregon SBHCs are in schools or on school grounds and provide medical care, behavioral health services and, in some instances, dental services. These services are often provided by multiple service providers through a mutually agreed upon service model, involving the school district. SBHCs offer services to all students in a convenient and youth-centered environment, regardless of ability to pay. SBHCs provide easy access to health care and reduce barriers such as cost, transportation and concerns about confidentiality that keep parents and students from seeking the health services students need. Services shall be provided without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability (as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act). Contracted services must reasonably accommodate the cultural, language and other special needs of clients including, but not limited to, limited English language proficiency.
