This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (the “LCBO”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the following, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”): i. the provision of Ocean Freight Services from the various LCBO Suppliers overseas to a Canadian Container Terminal; and ii. the export shipments of Empty Kegs from the various Keg Distributors Facilities in Ontario to different Originating Brewer’s Warehouses overseas. The LCBO utilizes ocean Freight Forwarders to ship from the various Suppliers overseas to a Canadian Container Terminal. The LCBO also utilizes ocean Freight Forwarders to return Empty Kegs from various Keg Distributors Facilities in Ontario to different Originating Brewer’s Warehouses overseas. The Ocean Freight Services identified in this RFP are as follows which will form the contracts for these services: a) The intent is to select one (1) proponent per Country, both identified in Appendix E - Container Volume by Country of Origin and Attachment 6 – Country of Origin. The selected proponent for the country must provide ALL services for the particular country. Proponents must submit rates for ALL countries and must submit pricing for all lanes within each country. b) Where a proponent is selected to provide Ocean Services for a particular country, this means the proponent will provide this service only for Cargo originating from a Supplier located at a Shipping Point within that country. If the Shipping Point for a Supplier changes (e.g., Supplier moves its pick-up facility to another country), then the proponent that has been selected to service that new country of origin to which the Shipping Point has moved will then be assigned to service this lane. Specific pick-up address/location information will be provided to the selected proponents. c) the LCBO intends to select only one (1) proponent to provide Empty Keg returns service for all countries of destination. Term of Contract The term of the agreement is to be for a period of two (2) years fixed, commencing on a date to be determined by the LCBO.
