Request for Proposals Community Holiday Dinners 2026

Description: The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is seeking proposals from local caterers within each district of Akwesasne to provide holiday dinners for our community. Caterers will be responsible for providing meals that cater to a diverse population, accommodating special dietary needs such as vegetarian and gluten-free options. The meals are to be served in December in each of the districts of Kawehnò:ke, Kaná:takon and Tsi Snaíhne. We estimate the need for approximately 500 dinners in each district. The proposed menu should be similar to traditional holiday meals provided in previous years, including but not limited to ham and/or turkey, mashed potatoes, hash, gravy, stuffing, a hot vegetable side dish, a cold salad (such as macaroni or pasta salad), dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, dessert, and beverages. Caterers are welcome to propose additional or alternative menu options. Akwesasronon caterers are invited to submit proposals that provide an overview of their business, experience, and any relevant certifications, such as safe food handling. Proposals should include a detailed outline of the proposed menu options-covering appetizers, main courses, desserts, and beverages-as well as a clear pricing structure. Please ensure costs per meal options are specified. Proposals will be evaluated based on several criteria, including the quality and variety of menu options, pricing and overall value for money, experience and references, and the ability to meet dietary needs. The timeline for this RFP includes the release date on Kentenha/October 9th, 2026, with proposals due by Kentenhko:wa/November 13th, 2026. Successful bidders will be notified by Kentenhko:wa/November 20th, 2026. Meals are scheduled to be served in Tsiothohrha/December.
