Regional Dial-a-Ride Coordination Study (Request for Proposals)

Description: The purpose of a Regional Dial-a-Ride Coordination Study (Study) is to evaluate the existing DAR services throughout the region and develop a comprehensive framework for a coordinated program. The Study shall determine how a coordinated or consolidated regional demand-response transportation program could operate in practice and what institutional, financial, and operational structure would be required to implement it. The Study shall answer key operational questions, including how trips would be scheduled, dispatched, and delivered across existing service areas; how customers would access and use a regional service; how vehicles, drivers, facilities, and other resources would be managed; how the program would be funded and administered; and how responsibilities would be divided among NITA, existing operators, Service Boards, counties, municipalities, and other participating entities.
