All Rx safety eyewear must meet all requirements for prescription safety eyewear identified in ANSI Z87.1-2020 "American National Standard for Personal Protection - Safety Glasses”. All eyewear shall display protector markings as required by the standard. BEP has established the following limits for Rx safety eyewear frames/equipment: (1) a $50.00 limit for spectacles with side protection for impact or high impact (Z87-2 or Z87.2+ ratings), (2) a $65.00 limit for spectacles with side protection or goggles (Z87-2 or Z87.2+ ratings) and liquid splash/droplet protection (D3), coarse dust protection (D4), and/or fine dust protection (D5). These limits apply ONLY to the cost of the eyewear frames. The vendor must provide a variety of styles of frames at or below the allowable limits. Employees will be issued one pair of safety glasses per prescription. Those employees wishing to receive frames that exceed the established allowance will be required to pay the difference directly to the vendor when the order is placed.
