Building 6418 Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facility (MFFRF) (Mex-Fly), Mexican Fruit Fly Program’s overall goal is the eradication of Mexican Fruit Fly’s, (Anastrepha ludens) from the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Establishment and long-term maintenance of a functional barrier to keep these areas free of Mexican fruit fly. The Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facility can produce 160 million sterile flies a week to service the entire Rio Grande Valley’s citrus Mexican Fruit Fly eradication program. Building 6418 recently had a fire that damaged larval room numbers 1-4. Contractor shall provide all demolition and odor control services which include all materials, supplies and labor necessary to demolish the larval rooms. The Mex-Fly facility larval rooms access is located outside of building 6418, southwest of the building.
