The major work consists of the installation of approx. 4,432 LF of 18" C-900 PVC water main, with accompanying tees, valves, and appurtenances. The water main will be installed on the east side of, and parallel to, the northbound lane of State Route 165, between Pioneer Road and State Route 152. The installation method will be open cut. Additionally, fire hydrants will be installed approx every 300 feet. Fire hydrant laterals will cross both the northbound and southbound lanes.

The Jumping Branch-Nimitz Public Service District (Summers County, WV) is soliciting separate sealed bids for the Broomstraw/Mark Meador Road Waterline Extension, consisting of waterline extensions along Broomstraw Road and Mark Meador Road tying into the simultaneous Madams Creek extension, and including a finished water storage tank, booster station, and pressure reducing valve station. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on August 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at 451 First Avenue, Hinton, WV, and sealed bids will be received by Gary Browning, Chairman, until 1:30 PM local prevailing time on August 27, 2026 at 120 Ballengee Street, Suite 106, Hinton, WV. The project is funded in part by grants and loans from the Summers County Commission (ARPA), WV DEP Drinking Water Treatment Revolving Fund, WV Bureau for Public Health, WV Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council, WV Water Development Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Section 340), HUD Community Development Block Grant, and Appalachian Regional Commission.
