The CDC Office of Acquisition Services intends to award a sole-source procurement to Humboldt Mfg. for a Round Panel Determinate (RDP) test machine. The machine will support SMRD research on fiber-reinforced shotcrete and provide a standardized reference point for current shotcrete mix designs. It will allow results from NIOSH’s High Energy High Deformation (HEHD) machine and the MTS Mark II impact-drop test machine to be correlated back to a standardized ASTM shotcrete test method for interpretation by mine operators, suppliers, engineers, and ground-control practitioners.
