NCHS/Division of Vital Statistics Coding of the Vital Statistics Data RFP

Description: Task 1: Coding of Causes of Death on Mortality and Fetal Death Records: The Contractor staff shall code the volume of purchased records on an ongoing basis, starting no later than one week after contract award and provide continual service. The minimum number of records coded per month is determined by the total number purchased divided by the number of months. The Contractor must ensure an error rate of less than 4 percent. The DACEB staff, who must ensure that all data is of the highest quality possible in accordance with approved specifications and procedures, will verify a sample of these coded records to assess the error rate per each Contractor staff and provide that information to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), who will provide such information to the Contractor. The Contractor shall take such steps as necessary to ensure that the coding requirements are timely and completely met. See attached file.
