The work calls for a broad-spectrum antiviral prototype demonstrated in vitro against at least five viruses and in vivo against at least one, with ruggedized formulations suitable for multiple administration routes and austere conditions. It also seeks scalable manufacturing through Phase 1 clinical trials and a credible regulatory pathway to licensure, including anticipated FDA engagement.

The National Institute of Nanotechnology building (NINT) is located on the North Campus of the University of Alberta. NINT is a six storey structure which includes a full basement and mechanical penthouse. The building was constructed in 2007 with a total gross area of 23,826 Square Metres. The building is linked on the second floor along the south elevation via a pedway to the Chemical-Materials Engineering Building and the Mechanical Engineering Building. The building is a nano-technological research facility comprised of laboratories and offices. Clean Room Labs are located in the basement level. Microscope labs (vaults are located in the basement level). The building includes several private research tenants, the National Research Council (NRC) and the University Alberta. A small mechanical room was added in 2012 on the 1st floor level (80 sq.m). The project will follow a progressive design-build model to address the following scope assignments Scope A – High-Density Research Labs and Cleanrooms Scope B – Facility-Wide Energy Efficiency Upgrades Scope C – Renovation of Indirect Supportive Spaces and Infrastructure See RFP for further details.

The CDC's National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention is soliciting applications for a cooperative agreement to support national viral hepatitis education, awareness, and capacity building for communities and providers.
