MPCA MCSFS Statewide Organics Management Programs RFP

Description: Seeks project proposals that will expand participation in Minnesota's organics recycling system by funding projects focused on organics collection programs, outreach and education that improves or increases organics recycling, and/or market development for finished compost and anaerobic digestion (AD) outputs. Projects focusing primarily on organics processing facilities such as compost sites and anaerobic digesters are not eligible. This grant program aims to reduce the amount of wasted food and food scraps disposed of through landfilling or incineration by increasing participation in the organics recycling system. Preferred project elements for this grant are listed under Section 6, but any eligible project focused on expanding participation in the organics recycling system, including expanding the use of finished compost or anaerobic digestion (AD) outputs, will be considered. Projects must focus on organics recycling of wasted food and food scraps; projects focused on yard waste composting, or other feedstocks that are not wasted food and food scraps, are not eligible.
