Message Switch System Replacement

Description: The County of San Mateo is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to replace its legacy Message Switch System (MSS), a mission-critical public safety platform that enables secure, real-time exchange of criminal justice information between local, state, and federal law-enforcement systems. The County's Public Safety Communications department operates the system as a centralized emergency-communications hub supporting fire, emergency medical services, and law-enforcement agencies, and the existing platform connects approximately 30 public-safety and criminal-justice agencies to critical information systems. The replacement is intended to improve reliability, preserve uninterrupted access to criminal-justice information, strengthen cybersecurity, and provide a secure, scalable, CJIS-compliant platform.
