Low SWaP, 2-micron Fiber Amplifiers

Description: This solicitation seeks to reduce the size and weight of kilowatt-class 2-micron fiber amplifiers into a compact system with size, weight, and power metrics comparable to existing 1-micron amplifiers. It targets defense, medical, and industrial applications, including eye-safer directed energy, advanced sensing, and precision materials processing. The Department of the Air Force intends to leverage its laboratory architectures to support robust production and transition into active directed-energy programs.
