Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Battery System
The Department of Energy is seeking information from qualified organizations able to provide non-lithium, rechargeable electrochemical long-duration energy storage battery systems for benchmark testing at Idaho National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory. The notice seeks two 100–150 kWh modules and one 1,000–1,500 kWh full-scale system, with at least 10 hours of discharge, specified AC/DC interfaces, safety compliance, documentation, testing, delivery, and support requirements. This is an active Sources Sought/EOI procurement notice rather than a grant program, and responses are due September 24, 2026, with selected respondents potentially invited to a subsequent formal RFP process.
