Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is offering a tech licensing opportunity for a novel EFAS method to synthesize tungsten tetraboride (WB4), a high-hardness material with applications in machining, defense, and nuclear safety. INL describes the EFAS process as producing WB4 with minimal impurities, high hardness, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, and is seeking a commercial partner to license the technology. Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC, the M&O contractor for DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory, is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified vendors to replace Air Handling Units (AHUs) 211 and 212 at TAN-679. The work includes removing and disposing of existing units, installing new units and associated components, integrating with existing ductwork/electrical/controls, and meeting DOE/ASHRAE/safety requirements. Responses will be used to develop a solicitation list, and selected vendors may be invited to a subsequent RFP.
