Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Washington-based INL/RCD/LE Team Leader or his/her designee, the Law Enforcement Advisor will perform the following duties: Assist INL staff in developing criminal justice and law enforcement programs, which are coordinated with all aspects of the criminal justice system. Conduct assessments of foreign law enforcement abilities and programs, directly and by managing contracted assessments, including but not limited to the areas of degrading transnational criminal organizations, disrupting crime (including cybercrime) harming American communities, and enhancing law enforcement cooperation in priority countries. Provide policy analysis and program guidance on law enforcement to INL program staff, the INL Front Office, and other DOS offices upon request. Such guidance may include mission objectives; size and structure of an international police presence; rules of engagement for international police, coordination with interagency elements, budgeting, planning for development of police abilities and institutions, and training plans.
