Description: The following Salient Characteristics are required for an equal product to be deemed technically acceptable. Seeking a device designed for grinding and polishing concrete specimens, natural stone, ceramic materials, and rock samples. Device must be able to securely hold 1”-3” diameter x 2”-3” length cube, cylinder, or core specimens on the table, with a grinding head that can be adjusted radially in both directions, either manually or automatically. Must be able to meet the standards required by ASTM D4543, ASTM C39, ISRM. Provide written communication or test documentation that demonstrates the equipment is capable of preparing specimens that meet ASTM D4543 dimensional tolerance requirements. Technical specifications: Automatic Grinding Input: 0.04 - 0.12 mm with lower feed rates (down to 0.01mm) for finer finishing; Grinding specs for specimens – must be able to run 1” -3” cylindrical and cubic samples; Degree of Finish: Ra 3.2 mm (rough finish) and Ra 1.6 mm (smooth finish); Parallelism: within +/-0.025mm for D=50mm sample (≈0.001rad); Perpendicularity: within 0.001rad from longitudinal axis of D=50mm sample; Cooling Devices: Receive water cooling.
