Helium-3
McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario) issued an open Request for Proposals (solicitation number JC 04-26-1125) for the supply of high-purity Helium-3 (He-3) needed to operate a neutron detector as part of a new neutron powder diffractometer under construction at the McMaster Nuclear Reactor. The agreement has a four-year term, requiring delivery of 300 bar-litres of Helium-3 in the first three years and 50 bar-litres in year four, with delivery to Ontario. The procurement is supported by the CFI Innovation Fund project 'Building a Future for Canadian Neutron Scattering'.
