Description: Arlington County is seeking bids to replace the existing 25-ton roof-mounted air handling unit at Fire Station 8 with a new 30-ton unit that maintains 68°F at 50–60% humidity continuously. The work includes removing and installing the equipment, minor structural reinforcement and ductwork changes, replacing acoustical ceiling tiles, roof work, and adjusting sprinkler heads to the new ceiling height. The new unit will include an enthalpy wheel to improve energy efficiency by transferring sensible and latent energy from exhaust air to incoming outdoor air.

Replace existing generator and furnish and install one (1) new generator at Fire Station #13. Furnish and install a new generator and transfer switch. Remove and dispose of existing 45 KW natural gas generator and transfer switch. Install new 50 KW diesel generator with matching (same manufacturer) 300-amp transfer switch. Equipment shall be the same voltage and phase as the existing generator and transfer switch. Cap existing gas line as close to the ground as possible. Modify or replace concrete pad as necessary to accommodate new generator. Verify that existing wiring is suitable to use with new generator/transfer switch. Any changes to wiring for this job will be included in scope of work.
