Description: The Department of War says legacy Air Force software airworthiness processes and the existing munitions-integration process limit rapid fielding, with integration often taking three to five years. The topic seeks a modular and scalable weapons integration architecture developed on the Open Systems Enclave (OSE) to meet critical F-16 modernization requirements. A fielded solution is intended to reduce new-munition airframe integration to one to two months, or days in an emergency.

Published August 5, 2026, this Phase II SBIR topic seeks a generalizable universal, species-agnostic cell-culture platform combining biological methods for establishing cells from arbitrary vertebrate and invertebrate species with autonomous closed-loop optimization and reproducible protocols. Proposers must address cross-species universality and autonomous culture automation, while gene-drive/genetic-biocontrol enablement is encouraged; any such work must remain in vitro/cellular, with no environmental release or gene-drive-competent whole organism. The official schedule lists an August 26, 2026 open date and a September 23, 2026 12:00 PM ET close, and DARPA's associated materials route selected proposers through contracting resources rather than presenting the opportunity as a grant announcement.

Requirements to provide design, develop, and deliver a Sensor Agnostic Emulator Trainer (SAET) in support of the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS). While the broader AF DCGS enterprise collects, correlates, and collaborates on multi-source intelligence to deliver near real-time actionable data to warfighters, this specific effort focuses on training modernization. The Contractor shall develop a modular, sensor-agnostic emulation platform capable of simulating diverse sensor data feeds to train operators in highly realistic environments. Additionally, the Contractor shall provide software integration, sustainment, and configuration control to ensure the trainer aligns with the DCGS Open Architecture (OA) baseline and can be deployed to the National Mission Partner Network to support distributed operations and training.
