Summary
This Project will include exterior canopy tie rod restoration and replacement of glass, as well as replacement of the T-Concourse roofing and installation of new Air Handling Units as part of future upgraded building HVAC systems. The Project scope includes the rehabilitation of the canopy tie-rod support system and replacement of the T-concourse canopy roofing, performed within an active rail facility with required protection, coordination, and temporary shoring of existing structures during construction. The Project consists of: Canopy Tie-Rod Replacement: Remove deteriorated cast iron connections and embedded plates; drill, test, and install new stainless steel threaded tie-rods with anchorage plates; perform required pull testing; grout voids; repair and reset affected stone façade; install and weld knife plates and connection hardware; and
pre-tension and align the new tie-rod assemblies prior to releasing shoring; Optional – Glass Reinstallation: Include an alternate to reinstall salvaged canopy glass currently stored on-site, including cleaning, handling, installation, and replacement of damaged units as required; T-Concourse Roofing Replacement: Remove existing roofing to the structural deck and install new roofing system, flashings, and drainage components. Roofing material is available on-site (bidders will be allowed to inspect material prior to proposal); and Optional – Roof-Mounted AHUs: Provide an alternate for removal and replacement of two roof-mounted AHUs, including setting, connection, and tie-in to existing utilities; scope excludes major ductwork modifications or full system replacement.
