Budd Inlet Treatment Plant (BITP) Mixed Liquor Channel Refurbishment RFP

Description: Replace eight existing weir gates within the mixed liquor distribution box, replace the mixed liquor channel drain gate, and remove the primary effluent diversion gate. Work includes evaluation and repair of deteriorated concrete surfaces within the mixed liquor channel, extension of channel aeration air within the mixed liquor distribution box, and installation of a walkable cover and handrail system over the primary effluent side of the diversion structure. The work specified in this section includes the requirements for all temporary bypass pumping of wastewater flows required to construct the project. The temporary bypass system will convey all flow up to 30 mgd, with a minimum flow of 5 mgd, from the diversion structure to four distribution boxes that are each dedicated to a secondary clarifier. The bypass system must operate continuously with gradual adjustments to match the changes in flow. Control of the bypass system must automatically adjust to the varying flow rates throughout the day and be adjusted based on the upstream liquid level while allowing manual flow balancing between the active secondary clarifiers. The temporary bypass system consists of pumps, pipes, flow meters, control panel, manual valves, level measurement devices, and all other controls and appurtenances needed for a complete stand-alone system.
