Heritage Center - Geothermal Test Well (Request for Proposal)
Drill, log, and test a geothermal test well (thermal conductivity boring) to evaluate the local underground thermal properties, and geothermal yield potential. The test well will be drilled to simulate the exact construction methods anticipated for the full-scale wellfield. Drill one vertical borehole to a nominal depth of 500 feet per attached well detail. Maintain a standard 4.5" to 6" diameter borehole. Collect and log formation cuttings at 10-foot intervals or at every distinct change in stratigraphy to document the local geology and water table dept. Install a 1.25-inch High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) thermally enhanced U-bend pipe assembly equipped with a factory-fused bottom U-bend. Tremie-grout the borehole from the bottom up using a thermally enhanced bentonite grout to ensure complete sealing and optimal thermal contact.
