2026 Public Defender (RFP)

The municipal public defender shall perform all of the services customarily performed by a municipal public defender of a city the size of the city (taking into account its permanent and seasonal population). Such services include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: providing legal representation to defendants in those cases pending in the municipal court wherein the municipal court judge has determined that the defendant is indigent and is entitled to the services of a public defender based on the prevailing laws of the state of new jersey and of the united states and, as a result, has assigned the municipal public defender to such cases.
